As Iowa women's basketball continues its offseason, junior transfer guard Dani Carnegie and junior center Ava Heiden have beeninvited to participatein USA Basketball's 3x3 development camp and its 3X Women’s Showcase in Phoenix, Ariz.
The USA Basketball 3x3 women’s development camp will be held May 6-8, where women's basketball athletes under 23 will hone their skills in a competitive and educational environment.
The development camp will be led by veteran USA 3x3 coaches Todd Monsey and Julia Ford in addition to Jonneshia Pineda and Joi Wiliams, who are making their USA 3x3 coaching debuts. Both Carnegie and Heiden are making their USA Basketball debuts.
Heiden had a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 18.0 points per game on 64.1% shooting along with 7.2 rebounds and a team-leading 1.3 blocks, during which she scored in double figures against all 17 Big Ten opponents and finished with 612 points (third all-time by an Iowa sophomore). As a result of her sensational play, she earned AP/USBWA All-America Honorable Mention and first-team All-Big Ten accolades from both coaches and media.

Carnegie, who will join the Hawkeyes next season, was named first-team All-SEC in her sophomore season withGeorgia, averaging 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on 42.7% shooting. Carnegie was also named the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024 with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and an All-ACC Freshman Team choice.
Both the 3X Showcase and 3x3 development camp will serve as an evaluation for selection to future USA Basketball 3x3 national teams and other opportunities.
