Cardi Bis blaming "the government" for her recent onstage mishap.
On Friday, Feb. 13, the 33-year-old rapper fell backward off her chair while performing "Thotiana" at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of herLittle Miss Drama Tour, as seen invideosshared to social media.
After making a quick recovery and dancing through the mishap, Cardi — real name Belcalis Almánzar — swiftly got up and pointed to the chair, quipping, "That was the government!"
The moment quickly went viral on social media, and shereposted the video on Xsoon after alongside the caption, "Can someone put a community note on this? This video is clearly AI."
Two days prior to her fall, the "Up" rapper kicked off her tour in Palm Desert, Calif., and addressed her fans in anothercontroversial momentthat went viral onsocial media.
"If ICE come in here, we're gonna jump they asses," Cardi began onstage. "I got some bear mace in the back. They ain't taking my fans, bitch. Let's go!"

Hours after Cardi's comments began making headlines, the United States Department of Homeland Securityreposteda tweet from TMZ reporting on the moment, writing, "As long as she doesn't drug and rob our agents, we'll consider that an improvement over her past behavior."
While she has previouslyaddressed the mistakes and "poor choices" she's madein her past, Cardi didn't hesitate to clap back at the Department of Homeland Security.
"If we talking about drugs let's talk about Epstein and friends drugging underage girls to rape them," she wrote on X, referencing the controversy surrounding convicted sex offenderJeffrey Epsteinand renewed public scrutiny overnewly released documents. "Why yall don't wanna talk about the Epstein files?"
Cardi said during a 2022 interview withDavid Lettermanon his Netflix seriesMy Next Guest Needs No Introductionthat she has always felt a"responsibility" to be vocal about her political opinions.
"I don't really put a lot of political things in my music, but I use the f— out of my platform," she said that May. "And I have used my platform even when I was a dancer. Because you might think that people are not looking, but they are."
"I mean, I'm a hood chick, and I'm from the Bronx," she continued. "A lot of people relate to me and follow me because they want to see how I'm dressed, they want to see my lifestyle. I feel like I have a responsibility to also share to them like, 'Hey, while you here and you're checking my outfit and checking my music, check out what's going on over here in this part of the world.' "
