Ryan Garciareturns to the ring on Saturday with an immediate opportunity to get his career back on track: a title shot against WBC welterweight world champion Mario Barrios.
Garcia (27-1, 19 KOs), is coming off of adecision lossin his last fight against Rolando Romero last May, his first since returning from a yearlong suspension after testing positive for banned substance ostarine following his decision win over Devin Haney. That result was ruled a no contest.
This will be Barrios' (29-2-2, 18 KOs) fourth title defense since winning the belt from Yordenis Ugas in 2023, though his last two fights have beendraws against Manny Pacquiaolast July and Abel Ramos in 2024.
"On fight night, I'm going in there to test his heart," Barrios told independent outletXicana Boxingabout Garcia. "I'm going to test how bad he really wants to be in there."
