Since Usain Bolt announced his retirement from sprinting back in 2017, Jamaica have failed to find another figure who has come even close to the world record holder. Team USA have dominated the 100m and 200m in recent years without the presence of Bolt, taking gold in all but one of the World Athletic Championships since 2017 - the only exception being the 200m sprint at the 2017 world championships in London, which was won by Turkey's Ramil Guliyev.
