A British vacationer has died while flying from the Falkland Islands to Chile together with his wife.
The 59-year-old, who hasn't been named, was travelling with Chilean airline LATAM to Punta Arenas on Saturday when he died.
Chilean police met the aircraft when it landed at Carlos Ibanez del Campo Airport – though it's not thought that the person died because of a criminal offense.
Diego DÃaz, Deputy Commissioner of the specialist unit based mostly in Punta Arenas, stated: 'On Saturday on the instructions of local prosecutors, detectives from the Punta Arenas Murder Brigade went to Carlos Ibanez del Campo Airport after a British tourist aged 59 died inside a aircraft whereas it was travelling from the Falkland Islands to Punta Arenas earlier than his connecting flight to Santiago.
'The person's wife was interviewed and stated he had several underlying well being issues.'
