About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Louis Jourdain and Timmy Cuamba meet on the UFC Fight Night 291 main card at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.
Jourdain (9-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut after a contract-earning, third-round finish of Magno Dias on Dana White's Contender Series last September. He enters on a four-fight, all-stoppage winning streak.
Cuamba (10-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) was stopped in May by Bernardo Sopaj. Prior to that setback, he won back-to-back fights against Roberto Romero and Chang Ho Lee.
Filling out the main card is a potential banger at bantamweight between Louis Jourdain and Timmy Cuamba.
Considering that I had Jourdain featured in my prospects to watch column back in 2024, I'm happy to see him officially make it into the UFC via Dana White's Contender Series. That said, I suspect that this could be a deceptively tricky first test for the brother of Charles Jourdain.
Cuamba, who beat one of the prospects I featured in the link above when he was on the Contender Series, has been a longtime fixture of the Las Vegas fight scene, training under Dewey Cooper since the age of 10.
I know Cuamba has underperformed in a small handful of spots, but I have a sneaky suspicion that the American's superior experience will shine through in this spot. Even though a finish from Jourdain will be firmly on the table in the first half of this fight, I'll officially pick Cuamba to squeeze out a close and contentious win on the scorecards.
The oddsmakers and the public favor the Canadian fighter, listing Jourdain -188 and Cuamba +152 via FanDuel.
Jourdain and Cuamba are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 8:40 p.m. ET. The fight streams live on Paramount+ .
