John Ling first took up a car wrench out of desperation. The teenager had big dreams for his 1980s Ford Ranger pickup but couldn't find anyone one to fulfil them. So he decided to do it himself. It was the start of a decades long career as a mechanic and today, John, 53, runs his own shop - NEK Collision - in Lyndonville, Vermont. When it comes to automobiles – from old bangers to sleek convertibles to new hybrids and everything four-wheeled in between – he's seen it all, delving under the hoods and wrestling with the innards.
