Alarmed Virginia residents have rushed out to their nearest grocery stores to panic buy bulk rolls of toilet paper. In an eerie flashback to the Covid-19 pandemic, images and videos show dozens of worried locals stocking up on home essentials as port workers across the country go on strike. Earlier this week, the International Longshoremen's Association, which represents approximately 45,000 dock workers, announced they were protesting against the automation of gates, cranes and container-moving trucks.
