Experts warn that 'miracle' weight-loss drugs could lead to fractures and brittle bones. The drugs – like Ozempic or Wegovy – can slash body weight by 20 per cent, but studies have found that they also have a long-term impact on bone density. Research presented to the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research raised significant concerns about the potential side-effects of these treatments. One of the studies – published in the medical journal JAMA – assessed 200 people using the drugs and found that they had reduced hip and spine bone mineral density when compared to a placebo or exercise alone.
