SCOTLAND is set to be thrashed by heavy rain after the mercury plummets to sub-zero temperatures.
Temperatures are set to drop below zero in some parts of Scotland TOMORROW.
Scotland will be hit by heavy rain[/caption]Yet more weather misery will continue with torrential downpours following the chilly conditions.
Scots will enjoy a slightly warmer and dry Tuesday before the frost moves in.
Forecasters at the Met Office predict parts of Lanarkshire will be hit the hardest by the chill which will bring frigid -1C temps by 6am tomorrow.
It comes as the Highlands felt the chill this morning, with a cold snap of -2C.
Things will warm up slightly throughout Wednesday to highs of 10C, before dropping back down to single figures around 10pm.
A heavy rain system will move in from the west and bring downpours on Thursday morning.
The showers will arrive on Thursday night, hitting the southwest and Lanarkshire.
Lower parts of Scotland will be hit by the downpours throughout Friday.
The worst of the rain will arrive on Saturday morning when the lowlands will be thrashed with up to 8mm of rain each hour.
Throughout the afternoon, more rain will make its way north, soaking Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Forecasters predict Aberdeen, Tayside and Perthshire will all be blasted by rainfall around 1pm.
The showers will end between 7pm and 10pm on Saturday, leading to some joy for a dry and slightly warmer Sunday.
The mercury will remain in single digits around 6C throughout the showery spell, with things starting to warm up on Saturday afternoon, with highs of 10C.
