He already declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft as a vehicle for his views on the league's transgender eligibility policies, even though he has no chance of playing. Now he is taking the protest from paper to the biggest stage the league has.

In a video shared on his X page on Saturday, Kanter also took pointed swipes at Golden State Valkyries star Gabby Williams and Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese, who he claims has now blocked him on social media.

"I'm excited to announce that I'll be in Atlanta on October 21st for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals," Freedom said. "As you all know, this all started with an interview featuring Gabby Williams of the Golden State Valkyries, when she said, 'I have no problem with trans athletes playing on my team or against my team.' Her words gave me so much hope and motivation to come out as a woman and officially declare for the WNBA Draft."

Freedom has made a similar statement before. In August 2026, the former NBA center posted a video declaring himself a prospect for the 2027 WNBA Draft to challenge the league's eligibility rules. But the move did not change his status.

"I can't wait to watch my favorite player, the woman who inspired me to become who I am today! Second, my favorite diva has unfortunately blocked me on social media. But that won't stop me from showing my appreciation for the one and only Angel Reese. I can't wait to take some notes on how to finish a layup after grabbing a rebound."

Moving away from the Gateway Center Arena, game 3 and 4 of the WNBA finals are being hosted at the State Farm Arena by the Atlanta Dream.

"I'm excited to support all the hardworking women in the WNBA and scout the competition before I dominate the league next year, unless they change the rules! And remember, the last time I attended a WNBA game, it became the most-watched game in league history! You're Welcome. Lastly, everyone keeps asking me the same question: 'What T-shirt are you going to wear this time?' Well, let me tell you something — this one is going to blow your minds!" he added.

The video closed with the hashtag #LetFreedomPlay, which may well be a hint at what his next shirt will say.

The last known game he attended was the August 23 matchup between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever, where he wore a plain black T-shirt carrying a dictionary-style definition printed across the front.

"WOMAN noun. adult human female," the shirt read.

That game, however, produced more than just a fashion statement. Late in the third quarter, after Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud scored, she walked toward Freedom and began pointing and shouting at him. And in response, Freedom stood up, outstretched his arms, and stepped toward the court before security intervened.

Enes Kanter Freedom was eventually ejected from Wintrust Arena following a brief altercation with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud during the game. He was then banned from the arena later on. He has, however, since responded by filing a lawsuit against the Sky , claiming his First Amendment rights were violated on the grounds that the arena uses public financing.

All of this began in August 2026 as Kanter's chosen method of publicly expressing his opposition to the WNBA's handling of the transgender athlete debate. In order to exploit what he described as a loophole in the league's gender eligibility policies and mock the process, he declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft and has since maintained a relentless campaign across social media platforms and in-arena appearances to keep the issue in the public conversation.

His declaration also triggered a second mock entry into the draft from Royce White, who followed suit just hours later. In fact, Kanter has additionally claimed that eight more biological men in the basketball community are open to joining his movement and declaring for the WNBA draft alongside him.

Hopefully, his attendance at Game 3 in Atlanta remains limited to the T-shirt reveal and the scouting mission he has announced, without producing the kind of altercation that turned his Chicago visit into a legal matter. The Finals deserve to be the story.
