Watch live shows and highlights 24/7] The Milwaukee Brewers are one win away from their first trip to the NLCS in seven years. The Brewers, after an early scare Monday at American Family Field, rolled toa commanding 7-3 win over the Chicago Cubs in Game 2of their NLDS. Thatgives them a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series as it heads to Wrigley Fieldlater this week. The Cubs, who lost 9-3 in Game 1, erupted right away Monday and seemed ready to bounce back in the series. Seiya Suzuki drilled a three-run homer in the first inning after Nico Hoerner singled and Justin Turner walked ahead of him. But Chicago's lead lasted a matter of minutes. The Brewers responded with Shota Imanaga on the mound, as Andrew Vaughn hit a three-run blast of his own in the bottom of the inning to tie the game. William Contreras then gave the Brewers their first lead of the night with a solo homer in the third, ending Imanaga's night. In the next inning, Jackson Chourio broke the game open for Milwaukee. He hit the deepest shot of the night straight out to center field for a three-run home run off reliever Drew Pomeranz. That put the Brewers up by four. All seven of their runs came on home runs with two outs. Rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski came in to pitch three scoreless innings midway through the bullpen game for the Brewers. That marked his postseason debut, and 31 of his pitches topped 100 mph — which is the most by a pitcher in a postseason game in the pitch-tracking era. Misiorowski earned his first playoff win with the final. The Cubs will attempt to rally to force a Game 5 beginning Wednesdaywith Game 3 at Wrigley Field(5:08 p.m. ET/TBS, TruTV). In that one, Milwaukee will be going for a sweep and some extra rest before the NLCS. —Ryan Young Blake Snell was brilliant. The Dodgers' bats woke up in time. And the beleaguered Los Angeles bullpen survived as the Dodgerssecured a 4-3 win over the Phillies in Game 2 and took a 2-0 lead in the NLDS. For six innings, Monday's game was locked in a pitchers' duel, as Snell and Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo traded blows from the mound. Snell didn't allow a hit until one out remained in the fifth inning. Luzardo retired 17 consecutive Dodgers batters to go into the top of the seventh knotted in a scoreless tie. But then Luzardo cracked. Teoscar Hernández led off with a single. Freddie Freeman followed with a double to put runners on second and third with no outs. With that, the Philly starter's night was done. With reliever Orion Kerkering on the mound, Kiké Hernández delivered again in the postseason, like he has so many times before. He sent Teoscar Hernández home on a fielder's choice and made it safely to first as the play at the plate failed. The Dodgers then loaded and cleared the bases with a two-run single by Will Smith and an RBI knock from Shohei Ohtani, his first hit of the series. Butno lead is truly safe with the Dodgers bullpen, and things got tense late. The Phillies plated a run in the eighth, then two more off Blake Treinen in the ninth, as Nick Castellanos reached second with no outs via a two-run double that cut the Dodgers lead to 4-3. Then Alex Vesia and Roki Sasaki combined to put out the fire and secure the last three outs of the game without further damage. The series now shifts to Los Angeles, where the Dodgers will have two chances to close out the best-of-five series at home.Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday(9:08 p.m. ET/TBS, TruTV). —Jason Owens Follow along with Yahoo Sports for live updates, highlights and more from Game 2 of the NLDS: Now we'll turn to a pair of ALCS Game 3s on Tuesday. Then the Toronto Blue Jays will attempt to close out their series with the New York Yankees in the Bronx (8:08 p.m. ET, FS1). Abner Uribe strikes out the final three Cubs batters in order, and the Brewers hold a 2-0 NLDS lead. The Cubs turn two again and get out of the eighth quickly. They'll need a huge burst in the ninth to stay in this thing. Carson Kelly, who is 0-for-3 tonight, is up first. Trevor Megill came in to finish the inning for the Brewers, who are now three outs away from a 2-0 series lead. The Cubs ended the seventh with a perfect double play, but they're running out of time here. The Brewers lead 7-3 headed into the eighth. Jared Koenig came in and got the Brewers through a 1-2-3 inning in the seventh, thanks in part to this huge play at first, on which hebarelybeat Michael Busch to the bag. Andrew Vaughn is doing it all tonight!#NLDSpic.twitter.com/lo7FHm1fS7 — MLB (@MLB)October 7, 2025 Ortiz hit a soft single there, and then Chourio made it to second after a brutal throwing error from Swanson, but the Cubs made it out unscathed. It's still a four-run game through six innings. That's a 1-2-3 inning for the Brewers again, this time with Chad Patrick on the mound. This bullpen game for Milwaukee is working out just fine. The Cubs pulled Pomeranz there and brought in Colin Rea, who got out of the inning after walking Andrew Vaughn right away. To the sixth we go. Chicago is going to need to make a move here soon if it's going to get back in it. The Miz keeps rolling for Milwaukee. He picked up another strikeout in the fifth inning, and both Suzuki and Happ flied out for the Cubs. Misiorowski is through three innings with just one hit allowed, and the Brewers' lead remains 7-3 as we head to the bottom of the fifth. Jackson Chourio just broke this game wide open. After Palencia hit Durbin and gave up a hit to Ortiz, Chourio hit a three-run homer to center field. The Brewers are up 7-3 after that 419-foot shot, and the Cubs will head back to the bullpen. Misiorowski has pulled off another scoreless inning for the Brewers, thanks in part to a great catch from Jackson Chourio at the wall there, and they'll head to the bottom of the fourth with their one-run lead. The Brewers are in the lead for the first time tonight. William Contreras just delivered his first career postseason home run in the bottom of the third, and he watched it go at the plate before taking off. We're still tied 3-3. Aaron Ashby is already done. The Brewers have pulled Ashby midway through the second inning after he walked Matt Shaw and then gave up a single to Justin Turner. Nick Mears took his place on the mound for Milwaukee, and he quickly ended the top half of the inning. Imanaga and the Cubs went 1-2-3 in the bottom half, so we'll head to the third inning all tied up 3-3. Well, this game is tied. Imanaga gave up back-to-back base hits with two outs, and then Brewers first baseman Andrew Vaughn drilled a three-run homer of his own sky-high to left field. ANDREW VAUGHN ANSWERS RIGHT BACKTIE GAME#NLDSpic.twitter.com/sDVmPlzLDy — MLB (@MLB)October 7, 2025 Imanaga has allowed a home run in 11 straight starts. Now let's head to Milwaukee, where the Cubs are already on the board thanks to a huge 3-run shot from Seiya Suzuki in the first inning. That's a dream start for Chicago, which is trying to avoid falling into an 0-2 series hole like the Phillies have done. Trea Turner is up next, and the Dodgers are switching pitchers. Here comes Roki Sasaki to try to end this for L.A. Harrison Bader hit a single to left, so Max Kepler is coming back up to the plate. The Phillies have runners at first and second now with just one out. They need a run to tie it, two to walk it off.
