New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees is reportedly picking up a new, weekly gig at ESPN. Brees reportedly signed on to be a weekly contributor on "First Take," permultiple sources. The 46-year-old Brees will make his first appearance on the program Tuesday. He's expected to appear on the program every Tuesday during the NFL season, per Awful Announcing. It marks the second time this week Brees has appeared in a prominent media role. He joined the Fox NFL crew Sunday, where he proved he still has pinpoint accuracy as a passer. Despite signing a multi-year deal with the network in 2020, Brees lastedjust one seasonwith NBC. He reportedly wanted to spend more time with his family. Since then, Brees has made media appearances, but hasn't signed on for anything regular. His reported ESPN contract allows him to make weekly appearances, but reportedly is non-exclusive, meaning Brees is free to appear on other networks. The move comes with "First Take" undergoing some upheaval. Long-time host Molly Qerim announcedher departure from ESPNin September. While she didn't explicitly say it in her announcement, Qerim also abruptly resigned from "First Take." ESPN has not announced a replacement for Qerim at this time. The network reportedly plans to run out afew different optionsbefore settling on a permanent replacement for Qerim. Amina Smith got the first crack at the job, hosting the show Monday.
