Major US car part company announces plans to close more than 700 stores nationwide

A major car parts company has announced the closure of more than 700 of its locations across the country. Advance Auto revealed on Thursday that it is shuttering more than 500 of its stores, four distribution centers, and 200 independent locations by the middle of next year. It comes after the North Carolina-based company reported a loss of $6 million in its third quarter earnings report on Thursday. The seller of car batteries, motor oil and more has seen falling sales since the start of the year.
