Daniel Day-Lewis Returns to Acting for a Movie Directed by His Son After Previously Announcing Retirement

Daniel Day-Lewis is back in action. The three-time Oscar winner, 67, who announced his retirement from acting in 2017, is set to star in a new film directed by his artist son Ronan, 26, Focus Features confirmed to PEOPLE. Ronan's directorial debut is titled Anemone and also stars Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green. Day-Lewis and his son also co-wrote the movie, which "explores the intricate relationships between fathers, sons and brothers, and the dynamics of familial bonds," per a press release.
