Three individuals including a toddler had to be rescued by a helicopter once they turned trapped by the tide coming in.

They have been out on a seashore walk in Dorset once they realised they have been unable to get again to where they began.

A lifeboat from nearby Weymouth tried to succeed in them, however regardless of with the ability to see them was unable to succeed in them because of the giant waves at Kimmeridge Bay.

They subsequently needed to be winched to safety by a coastguard helicopter, scrambled from North Wales.

The trio raised the alarm at 6.15pm and have been caught for nearly two hours earlier than they have been all lifted off the seashore by 8pm.

Kimmeridge Bay, part of the Jurassic Coast, is a sheltered rocky bay with no sand, often known as the perfect spot for rockpooling in Dorset. It's also a well-liked spot for snorkelling when the tide is in.
